"Most of my dimension tables are using an identity column for new surrogates.  Given that I setup the component to "Not Use" the surrogate key column.  In this situation there is always a Warning icon on the component and the data flow.  Is there a different way to setup things when using an identity column?"

Yes - this is possible in version 1.3 or higher of the Kimball Method SCD component.

If you're not using the Kimball Method SCD component to manage your Surrogate Keys, by default it will place a warning condition on the component.  It does this to ensure that you're aware you have to should be assigning Surrogate Keys yourself somewhere else in your ETL process.

If you've taken care of that, you can instruct the component to suppress this warning.  Open the component editor and switch to the "options" tab.  Scroll down, and you will see a section titled "Warning Suppression."  Check the box labeled "suppress warnings about not identifying a surrogate key."
