This is like SCD 3 tracking for the Audit Columns.
The idea is to add, for example, an “Audit Column – SCD1 Prior Update” used to take the existing dimension column value and save it rather than overwriting it as the current “Audit Column – SCD1 Prior Update” does. This would only capture the last modification but by adding to the output it would enable design of even more sophisticated lineage tracking. Envision this for the following Audit Columns: SCD1 Update, SCD2 Change, Last Changed.
