Both I and users that come after you appreciate your ratings and reviews. If it's a steaming pile of cr**p, say so! If it works for you, how significant is your Performance Improvement? Please review the Binary Installation Instructions - there is one manual step.

Completed:

  • Created Installers for SSIS 2005 and 2008 for "easy" component install. Still requires manual addition to SSIS toolbox, and currently doesn't Support 2005 and 2008 Side-by-Side (Same PC) Installation
  • Improved to Add Inferred Member Support. Early-arriving facts can now tag their dimension members for later update by this component.
  • Improved editor responsiveness (editor validation is asynchronous)
  • Improved handling of input re-attachment/re-definition (removing and attaching inputs doesn't discard configuration settings)
  • Significant performance (speed, memory, and CPU) improvements
  • The ability to Limit Output Columns in order to reduce/eliminate the SSIS "output column is not used" warnings.
  • Added more debugging verbosity to assist in troubleshooting, or for examination of the way the component works.
  • Improved to Extend Auditing Support with Performance Statistics

Reviews for this release

I would highly recommend this component to anyone using SSIS to manage SCDs. We have been using the component for over a year on dimension tables with > 2M rows in SQL Server. We recently began moving to a Netezza server and continue to leverage the KM-SCD component.

This is a great addition to the SSIS ETL toolkit. Running against Oracle, non-destructive edits, case-insensitivity, auditing. Made me one happy BI-type.

Excellent tool that will save me hours of time in hand coding that i would have had to done if i used the slowly changing dimension wizard. I hope Microsoft lift there game and make yu an offer you cannot refuse so that ssis 2010 has this component!

This is probably the best component provided to the community. I have had outstanding success with this component so far. The fact that you do not charge for it is admirable. Outstanding JOB Todd!!!!!!!!!!

Outstanding effort in enhancing to incorporate real world usage scenarios. Really looking forward to 1.5 enhancements but felt that the effort with 1.4 was impressive.
